Isaiah 53:5
"But he was wounded for our transgressions he was bruised for our iniquities the chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed."
Teaching Message
One of the deepest truths hidden within the economy of the cross is the mystery of the stripes of Jesus. Before the nails, before the crown of thorns, His body was subjected to a brutal scourging. And that scourging was not incidental to the story — it was central to it. It was part of the redemptive transaction.
Those stripes were not just marks of suffering. They were marks of payment. They were the currency through which divine healing was purchased for you and for me.
Isaiah 53:5, "With his stripes we are healed."
Pay attention to the tense of that statement. It does not say "we will be healed" — it says "we are healed." Past tense. Finished. Completed. In the realm of redemption, healing has already been accomplished. God is not still deciding whether to heal you. He has already made the provision.
Now think about this: just as Jesus bore our sin, He also bore our sickness. Just as He carried our iniquity, He also carried our disease. The two are inseparable in redemption.
Matthew 8:16-17, "He cast out the spirits with his word and healed all that were sick that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet saying Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses."
The healing ministry of Jesus during His earthly life was not separate from the cross — it was a living preview of what the cross would fully establish.
The scourging was brutal beyond what most of us can imagine. His flesh was torn open. His blood was poured out. And none of it was meaningless. Every stripe represented a release. Every wound carried a provision. Every drop of blood declared healing over someone's condition.
In God's economy, nothing Jesus went through was wasted. Every pain was converted into a benefit for those who believe. Every agony was transformed into supply.
This means you must approach healing with understanding, not just hope. Healing is not based on how you feel — it is based on what is true. It is not dependent on whether symptoms persist — it is anchored in what redemption has accomplished.
1 Peter 2:24, "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree that we being dead to sins should live unto righteousness by whose stripes ye were healed."
Again — past tense. "Ye were healed." Healing is not an add-on to salvation. It is part of the package. It is woven into the very fabric of redemption.
So why do so many believers struggle to walk in health? Often, the problem is not the absence of provision but the absence of revelation. When healing is not understood, it cannot be fully accessed.
Hosea 4:6, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."
Ignorance can cause a healed person to live as if they are sick. It can keep a redeemed person bound by what Christ has already broken. But when light enters, liberty follows.
John 8:32, "And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free."
Here is the truth, beloved: healing is your covenant right. It is part of your inheritance in Christ. It was included in the price Jesus paid. But like any provision, it must be accessed by faith.
Mark 11:24, "What things soever ye desire when ye pray believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them."
Faith does not pretend symptoms do not exist. Faith establishes the truth of God's Word above the reality of symptoms. Faith declares what God has said, even when everything in the natural seems to contradict it.
And faith is built through the Word. The Word of God is not just information — it is medicine for your body and life for your bones.
Proverbs 4:20-22, "My son attend to my words incline thine ear unto my sayings let them not depart from thine eyes keep them in the midst of thine heart for they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh."
Did you catch that? Health to all their flesh. The Word carries healing virtue. When you meditate on it, faith rises. When you confess it, power is released. When you apply it, results follow.
The stripes of Jesus also speak to the compassion of God. Healing is not just a cold transaction — it is an expression of how deeply God loves you.
Psalm 103:2-3, "Bless the Lord O my soul and forget not all his benefits who forgiveth all thine iniquities who healeth all thy diseases."
All iniquities. All diseases. God is not selective. His forgiveness and His healing flow from the same source — His unfailing love.
You must reject every mindset that contradicts this. Sickness is not a blessing in disguise. Disease is not a teaching tool from God. Affliction is not your inheritance.
Acts 10:38, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil for God was with him."
Look at the source of sickness in that verse — it is an oppression from the devil, not a gift from God. And if it is not from God, it has no legal right to remain in your life.
The stripes of Jesus have already settled the matter. Healing belongs to you. Health is your portion. Wholeness is your inheritance. When this truth grips your heart, you rise in authority. You speak with conviction. You resist sickness as an invader, and you stand firm on the finished work of Christ.
Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper."
Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. It was not designed to host sickness. It was designed to carry the life of God.
1 Corinthians 6:19, "Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost."
Guard it. Speak over it. Align it with the Word. The stripes of Jesus have made the provision. Your responsibility is to believe, to receive, and to walk in the reality of divine health.
