Day 300: OCT 27TH: THE GOD THAT LIFTS MEN FROM THE DUST

Scripture

Psalm 113:7-8

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; that he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

DAILY WISDOM

God does not just lift men slightly. He raises them from the lowest pits to the highest thrones.

MESSAGE

The story of Scripture and history tells us about a God who specializes in lifting men. He is not only the Creator but also the Lifter. He finds men in dust, locates them in ruins, and raises them to thrones. Psalm 113:7-8 illustrates this powerfully: "He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; that he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people." This is not just a small improvement. It is a complete reversal, a divine elevation, and a supernatural enthronement.

Dust symbolizes low places in life—places of rejection, shame, lack, and obscurity. The dunghill represents the filthiest conditions, where no one expects glory to rise. Yet the scripture tells us that God intentionally lifts men from these places. Why? Because it is His nature to show His glory through those the world has overlooked.

Consider Joseph. He was thrown into a pit, sold as a slave, and imprisoned as a criminal. That was his dust and dunghill. Yet when God lifted him, it was not a slow climb. In one day, he was among princes, standing next to Pharaoh, ruling over Egypt. That is what it means for God to lift a man.

David’s story offers another example. He was a shepherd boy left alone in the wilderness, ignored even by his own father. When Samuel came to anoint a king, David was not even invited. But the God who lifts men took him from the pasture and placed him on the throne of Israel. The psalmist himself recognized this in Psalm 75:6-7: "For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another."

God's lifting is not based on background, connections, or qualifications. It is entirely by His mercy and choice. He lifts whom He wants to show that no one can limit His plan. That is why Hannah said in 1 Samuel 2:8, "He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory."

Beloved, no matter the state of your life right now, you are not beyond the lifting hand of God. Your current situation may seem like dust, but God is ready to elevate you to honor. Your voice may feel silenced in obscurity, but He can amplify it before nations. Your destiny may look trampled, but He can establish you on thrones of influence.

God's lifting does not just change things; it transforms them. It does not merely elevate; it enthrones. It does not just promote; it glorifies. Trust Him today. Refuse to settle for dust or a dunghill. Believe that God's hand is upon you, and that same hand will lift you to places beyond your imagination.

KEY LEARNING POINTS

  1. GOD SPECIALIZES IN LIFTING MEN FROM LOW PLACES

Psalm 113:7, "He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill."

No matter how low a person has fallen, God can lift him up. His hand reaches even to the dust and dunghill to restore glory.

  1. DIVINE LIFTING SETS MEN WITH PRINCES

Psalm 113:8, "That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people."

God does not lift people slightly; He places them among princes, establishing them in honor and influence.

  1. DIVINE LIFTING IS SUPERNATURAL PROMOTION

Psalm 75:6-7, "For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another."

True promotion does not come from people but from God. He is the ultimate promoter of destinies.

  1. GOD USES THE REJECTED TO DISPLAY HIS GLORY

1 Samuel 16:11, "And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep…"

David was overlooked, but God chose him. The rejected often become instruments of His glory when He lifts them.

  1. DIVINE LIFTING IS NOT GRADUAL BUT SUPERNATURAL

Genesis 41:41, "And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt."

Joseph’s elevation was not a process but a divine event. When God lifts, it is sudden and unmistakable.

  1. DIVINE LIFTING MAKES MEN INHERIT GLORY

1 Samuel 2:8, "…to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory."

God's lifting is not just about position; it is about inheriting the throne of glory and gaining a heritage of honor.

DAILY PURPOSE NOTE

Your condition today is not your conclusion. God is powerful enough to lift you from the dust to the throne. Trust Him, expect Him, and you will inherit the throne of glory.
