Day 292: OCT 19TH: THE SPIRIT OF REVIVAL AND THE BREATH OF LIFE

Scripture

Ezekiel 37:10

So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

DAILY WISDOM

Where the Spirit of God moves, death gives way to life, and ruins rise again into glory.

MESSAGE

Every ruin seeks one thing: the breath of God. Without the Spirit, there can be no revival. Without the breath of life, there can be no restoration. Ezekiel stood in the valley of dry bones, a place of hopelessness, and by prophecy he called upon the wind of the Spirit. When the breath entered the bones, what was once scattered became a living army. This is the mystery of revival: it is the Spirit's presence that turns death into life and ruins into glory.

The breath of God is not just ordinary air. It is the very Spirit that gave life to Adam when God formed him from the dust. Genesis 2:7 says, ‘And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.’ Until the breath came, Adam was well-structured but lifeless. The same applies to every destiny. Without the Spirit, efforts remain empty. Without the Spirit, structures stay dry. Without the Spirit, there is no life.

Revival comes by the Spirit. Ruins are not rebuilt by energy, talent, or intellect; they are restored by God's renewing wind. In Acts 2:2–4, the early church waited in the upper room until suddenly there came a sound from heaven like a rushing wind. That wind was the same breath that entered the dry bones in Ezekiel’s vision. It changed fearful men into bold witnesses. It turned a simple gathering into a global movement.

The Spirit of God is the author of revival. He brings courage to the fainthearted, strength to the weary, boldness to the timid, and life to the dead. When He breathes, dry marriages find love again, barren wombs conceive, stagnant destinies move forward, weak ministries catch fire, and nations in ruins experience restoration. Nothing can resist the breath of God.

If you long for restoration, seek the Spirit. If you want revival, call for the wind. The Spirit should not touch you just once; He should breathe into you every day. His presence must be your pursuit, His fire your portion, and His breath your strength. Do not try to rise on your own power. Do not rebuild by your own wisdom. Yield to the Spirit, let Him breathe upon you, and you will rise as part of the great army that brings the glory of God to the nations.

KEY LEARNING POINTS

  1. THE BREATH OF GOD IS THE SOURCE OF LIFE

Genesis 2:7, ‘And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.’

No matter how well-structured a life may look, without the breath of God it remains lifeless. His Spirit is the only true source of life.

  1. THE SPIRIT IS THE AUTHOR OF REVIVAL

Acts 2:2, ‘And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.’

Every genuine revival in history has come from the Spirit. Without His wind, there is no movement, no fire, and no restoration.

  1. THE BREATH OF GOD TURNS BONES INTO AN ARMY

Ezekiel 37:10, ‘So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.’

What was once scattered and hopeless became a mighty force by the Spirit. When the breath of God enters, ruins become armies.

  1. THE SPIRIT EMPOWERS WEAKNESS INTO STRENGTH

Romans 8:11, ‘But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies…’

The Spirit changes weakness into strength. He brings life, revives, and energizes what is dying, giving power where there was none.

  1. THE SPIRIT IS THE GUARANTEE OF FRUITFULNESS

John 6:63, ‘It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.’

The flesh cannot produce life. Only the Spirit can make fruitful. Without Him, efforts are wasted, but with Him, fruit flourishes.

  1. SEEKING THE SPIRIT DAILY SUSTAINS RESTORATION

2 Corinthians 3:6, ‘…for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.’

The Spirit must be sought every day. Restoration is not a one-time event; it is a continuous flow of life from His presence.

DAILY PURPOSE NOTE

Restoration is not possible without the Spirit. Yield to His breath, seek His wind, and rely on His life every day. Only then will your ruins rise, and your glory be restored.
