Day 272: SEP 29TH: THE AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER IN CHRIST

Scripture
Luke 10:19
Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
DAILY WISDOM
Authority is the mark of control. Control without authority is not possible.
MESSAGE
From the start, God gave authority to man when He said, “Let them have dominion over the earth.” Dominion is a command, not a suggestion. But this dominion only works when it involves authority. Authority is the believer’s right to rule on earth like a king and to serve as a priest.
The work of Christ at Calvary not only saved us from sin and death but also returned to us the authority Adam lost in Eden. When Jesus said, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth,” He quickly passed that authority to the Church, instructing, “Go ye therefore.” We are not powerless; we have divine authority.
Authority in Christ is not something we take; it is something we receive. It is not assumed; it is given to us. It is not borrowed; it is assigned. Just as an ambassador represents his country, every believer acts as Heaven’s representative on earth. The strength behind our words lies not in our titles but in the authority we hold through Christ Jesus.
Authority is active, not passive. Kings govern through declarations, not suggestions. Priests serve through ordinances, not opinions. When a believer speaks with divine authority, heaven supports those words, and hell must obey. Authority does not depend on loudness but on position. You can whisper in faith, and demons will tremble, or you can shout in fear, and nothing will happen. Authority grows from knowing who you are in Christ and what He has given you.
Many struggle in life not because they lack power but because they do not use their authority. Unused authority is lost authority. Satan flourishes where believers remain uninformed. He oppresses where we are quiet. But when we rise in understanding, taking our rightful stand in Christ, we exert authority that overcomes the enemy, silences his accusations, and confirms our dominion.
The believer’s authority is not just about casting out demons. It includes bringing peace to your home, prosperity to your work, health to your body, progress to your future, and breakthroughs for your community. Wherever darkness appears, the authority of Christ within you acts as the light that defeats it. Dominion shows the visible proof of invisible authority.
Beloved, rise and live in your authority. Do not let the enemy intimidate you. Stand firm in your role as a king and priest. Use your authority in prayer, declarations, faith, and obedience. Heaven has given it, Christ has confirmed it, and the Spirit has empowered it. Nothing shall by any means hurt you.
SIX REALITIES OF BELIEVER’S AUTHORITY
- AUTHORITY IS DELEGATED BY CHRIST
Matthew 28:18–19, “And Jesus came and spake unto them saying All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth Go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.”
Authority is not ours by nature but is given to us by Christ.
- AUTHORITY IS EXERCISED THROUGH THE NAME OF JESUS
Philippians 2:10, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth.”
The name of Jesus is the believer’s tool of command.
- AUTHORITY IS ROOTED IN REVELATION KNOWLEDGE
Ephesians 1:17–18, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ the Father of glory may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him The eyes of your understanding being enlightened that ye may know what is the hope of his calling.”
Without revelation, authority is ineffective.
- AUTHORITY IS ENFORCED BY FAITH
Mark 11:23, “For verily I say unto you That whosoever shall say unto this mountain Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
Faith supports and confirms spiritual authority.
- AUTHORITY IS SUSTAINED BY HOLINESS
Proverbs 28:1, “The wicked flee when no man pursueth but the righteous are bold as a lion.”
Sin destroys boldness, while righteousness fosters fearless authority.
- AUTHORITY IS BACKED BY THE HOLY GHOST
Acts 4:31, “And when they had prayed the place was shaken where they were assembled together and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and they spake the word of God with boldness.”
The Spirit strengthens and enforces the believer’s authority.
DAILY PURPOSE NOTE
The authority of the believer is the key to dominion. Use it boldly and enforce your kingdom mandate.
