Day 113: REDEMPTION AND THE FINISHED WORK OF THE CROSS

Scripture

Luke 19:10

For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

DAILY WISDOM

Our redemption is secured by the finished work on the cross, and by His blood, we are made whole and given eternal life.

MESSAGE

Redemption is the heartbeat of the Gospel. On the cross, Jesus declared His finished work—He bore our sins, paid the ultimate price with His precious blood, and rose as the firstborn among many brethren. This sacred act of love and sacrifice has set us free from the bondage of sin and death, granting us a new identity in Him.

Jesus’ crucifixion was not a tragic defeat but a triumphant victory. His cry, “It is finished” (John 19:30), signified that the debt of sin was fully paid. There is no need for further sacrifice, for the work of redemption is complete. His blood, shed on Calvary, cleanses us from all unrighteousness and grants us eternal life. The blood of Jesus is our shield and our redemption. It speaks of a price that was willingly paid to set us free. Through His blood, we are washed, sanctified, and made heirs of His kingdom. As the Apostle Paul reminds us, “Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.” (Romans 4:25). This power is available to us every day, protecting and redeeming us from every snare of the enemy.

Jesus is the firstborn of a vast family of believers—a guarantee that we, too, shall rise. His resurrection assures us that death has lost its sting, and we are promised eternal life. As the first to be raised, Christ leads the way for all who trust in Him, making us co-heirs with His glorious inheritance.

Redemption means being set free from our past and restored into the fullness of God’s glory. It is not by our works or merit, but solely by His grace. When we accept His finished work, we are adopted into His family, reborn and renewed for a life marked by victory and purpose.

Let this truth permeate your spirit: the cross is not a symbol of defeat but the ultimate display of God’s love and power. As you walk in redemption, remember that you are forgiven, restored, and destined for greatness. Your life is now a testimony of the finished work of Christ—a life redeemed by His blood, raised in His power, and destined to inherit His eternal kingdom.
