Philippians 3:10
"That I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings being made conformable unto his death."
Teaching Message
The cross paid the price. The blood secured forgiveness. But it was the resurrection that released the power. Without the resurrection, the redemptive story would be incomplete — a sacrifice without a confirmation. But when Jesus rose from the dead, heaven stamped its approval: the debt is paid, death is finished, and a brand-new life is available to everyone who believes.
Romans 6:4, "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father even so we also should walk in newness of life."
That phrase — "newness of life" — is not metaphorical. The resurrection did not just happen to Jesus. It happened for you. It lifted you out of the old and into a dimension of life that is entirely new. A life free from the chains of sin. Free from the shadow of guilt. Free from the tyranny of fear. A life designed for dominion.
Think about what the resurrection did to the power of sin. Sin once ruled over humanity with an iron grip. But when Jesus rose, that grip was shattered.
Romans 6:9, "Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more death hath no more dominion over him."
If death has no dominion over Christ, then it has no dominion over you either. Not spiritual death, not emotional defeat, not relational failure, not any form of limitation. The resurrection introduced a higher order of living — a life governed by the Spirit, a life that overcomes.
Fear, too, was dealt a fatal blow. Fear is rooted in death — the fear of losing, the fear of failing, the fear of what tomorrow might bring. But when death itself was defeated, the entire root system of fear was pulled up.
2 Timothy 1:10, "But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ who hath abolished death and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel."
Abolished. Not weakened. Not managed. Abolished. And in its place — life and immortality. That is the consciousness you are meant to carry: not the dread of what might go wrong, but the assurance of a life that death cannot touch.
And the power behind all of this is not far away. It is not reserved for a future day. It is already operating within you.
Ephesians 1:19-20, "And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe according to the working of his mighty power which he wrought in Christ when he raised him from the dead and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places."
Read that carefully. The same power — not a reduced version, not a fraction — the same exceeding greatness of power that pulled Jesus out of the grave is directed "to usward who believe." That power breaks impossibilities. It overturns negative verdicts. It lifts you into a realm of authority that the natural mind cannot comprehend.
The resurrection also repositioned you. When Jesus rose and ascended, you rose with Him.
Ephesians 2:6, "And hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus."
You are seated with Christ. That is not a motivational quote — it is your spiritual position. Above fear. Above oppression. Above every principality and power. The resurrection moved you from a place of struggle into a place of authority.
And this power is not static. It is active, alive, and working in your body and your circumstances right now.
Romans 8:11, "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."
The Spirit of resurrection is inside you. He quickens. He energizes. He revives. He breathes life into what looks dead. Nothing stays dead when this power is at work.
But beloved, knowing about this power is not the same as knowing this power. The apostle Paul, who understood theology better than most, still had this as his burning desire:
Philippians 3:10, "That I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings being made conformable unto his death."
He wanted experiential knowledge, not just intellectual understanding. He wanted to feel the force of that resurrection power working in his daily life. And that should be your pursuit as well — to move this truth from your head into your lived experience.
Today, the resurrection power is available to you. It lifts weakness into strength. It turns defeat into victory. It transforms limitation into dominion. Step into the newness of life that the empty tomb has made possible, and refuse to live one more day as though the grave still has a say.
