Hebrews 12:24
"And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better things than that of Abel."
Teaching Message
At the very heart of the cross lies a mystery that deserves your deepest attention: the blood of Jesus. You see, the cross was far more than a place of suffering, it was a place of release. The blood that poured from the body of Christ was no ordinary blood. It was divine currency, the substance through which eternal transactions were settled and covenant realities locked into place forever.
Here is something that should stir your spirit: the scripture tells us the blood speaks. In the realm of the spirit, blood has a voice. It communicates, testifies, and makes demands. And beloved, the blood of Jesus is alive, actively, continually speaking on your behalf right now.
Genesis 4:10, "The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground."
Even Abel's blood had a voice. It cried out for justice, for vengeance, for accountability. But the blood of Jesus speaks an entirely different language. Where Abel's blood demanded punishment, the blood of Jesus releases forgiveness. Where Abel's blood called for destruction, the blood of Christ enforces redemption. The contrast could not be more dramatic.
Hebrews 9:14, "How much more shall the blood of Christ who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God."
Think about what that means for you personally. The blood of Jesus purifies, cleanses, and restores. It lifts the weight of guilt and shatters the grip of sin, not just outwardly, but deep within, where your conscience wrestles and your heart carries its hidden burdens.
The cross makes one thing unmistakably clear: the blood of Jesus is the foundation of the new covenant. Every benefit of redemption rests upon it. Without the blood, there is no forgiveness, no access, no victory.
Ephesians 1:7, "In whom we have redemption through his blood the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace."
So let this settle in your heart: your redemption does not rest on your effort, it rests on the blood. Your forgiveness is not the reward of your performance, it flows from the blood. Your access to God has nothing to do with personal merit, it is secured entirely by the blood.
And friend, the blood does not only forgive, it opens the door into God's very presence. Before redemption, humanity was cut off from God. The veil stood as an impassable barrier. But when Jesus shed His blood, that barrier came crashing down.
Hebrews 10:19-20, "Having therefore brethren boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus by a new and living way which he hath consecrated for us through the veil that is to say his flesh."
This access is not partial or occasional. It is complete and continuous. You now have the right to come before God with boldness, without fear, without guilt, without a single trace of condemnation.
The blood also speaks protection over your life. Remember the Old Testament picture? The blood of the lamb was applied to the doorposts, and when the angel of destruction passed through, it could not touch what the blood covered.
Exodus 12:13, "And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are and when I see the blood I will pass over you."
That was a shadow of the greater reality now available to you. The blood of Jesus stands over your life as a covering, a shield, a defense against every form of destruction the enemy would try to bring.
Revelation 12:11, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony."
Do you see it? The blood is a weapon. It is a force that overcomes the adversary. So do not stay silent about what the blood has done. Declare it. Enforce it. Apply it by faith to every situation you face.
Beyond protection, the blood speaks restoration. It carries the power to recover what has been lost, to reverse damage that seemed irreparable, to rebuild what lay in ruins.
Colossians 1:20, "And having made peace through the blood of his cross by him to reconcile all things unto himself."
Reconciliation is restoration, bringing things back into their proper alignment, returning them to their original God-intended purpose. Through the blood, your relationship with God is restored and your life is realigned with His divine intention.
The blood also speaks over your identity. It marks you as redeemed, identifies you as belonging to God, and separates you from every system of darkness, establishing you firmly in the Kingdom of light.
1 Peter 1:18-19, "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot."
You are not ordinary or common. You are the product of precious blood. Your life carries immeasurable value, your existence carries weight and significance, and your destiny carries divine purpose.
And here is what makes all of this so powerful: the blood of Jesus speaks continually. It is not merely a past event sealed in history, it is a present, active reality. Right now, it is speaking. Right now, it is working. Right now, it is enforcing covenant realities over your life.
Every time the enemy raises an accusation, the blood answers. Every time guilt tries to creep back in, the blood pushes it away. Every time condemnation attempts to settle over your heart, the blood rises to your defense.
Romans 8:33-34, "Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect it is God that justifieth who is he that condemneth it is Christ that died."
The blood is your defense, your justification, and your victory, all at once.
So here is what I want you to take hold of today: you must become conscious of the voice of the blood. Train yourself to respond to what the blood is saying rather than what your circumstances are shouting. When your situation screams lack, the blood whispers provision. When defeat surrounds you, the blood declares victory. When rejection stings, the blood announces your acceptance.
Your responsibility is simply this: align with the voice of the blood. Speak what it speaks. Declare what it has established. Stand firm on what it has secured.
The blood of Jesus is the bedrock of your confidence. It is the reason you can stand when everything around you shakes. It is the reason you can believe when doubt presses in. It is the reason you can overcome when the odds are stacked against you.
Let the voice of the blood become louder in your life than every other voice.
