Matthew 4:4
“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
The Word of God is vital for the spirit, providing life, strength, and energy to the believer. Jesus stated in Matthew 4:4 that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from God’s mouth. Psalms 19:7 describes the Word as “the law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.” Regular interaction with the Word sharpens one’s perception, opens understanding, and equips the believer to navigate life with clarity and divine guidance.
Moreover, the Word sustains believers through times of testing. Just as food strengthens the body against sickness, spiritual nourishment strengthens the spirit against adversity, opposition, and delays.
