Day 168: MAINTAINING SPIRITUAL FIRE

Scripture
Leviticus 6:13
The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.
DAILY WISDOM
A burning altar is not an emotional high—it is a spiritual necessity. If you don’t feed your fire, it will die out.
MESSAGE
Spiritual fire is the life of a believer’s walk with God. Without it, Christianity becomes a routine, prayer becomes a chore, and warfare becomes a struggle. God’s design is that His fire in you remains burning—not occasionally, but continually. Leviticus 6:12: “And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning…”
Fire doesn’t keep itself alive. Someone must tend it. Someone must add wood. The responsibility of keeping spiritual fire burning is not on God—it is on you. You are the priest of your altar. You either keep it burning, or you let it die.
Many believers wait for special meetings or emotional moments to feel on fire again. But spiritual fire isn’t about feelings—it’s about discipline. It’s about feeding your altar daily with the wood of the Word, the oil of prayer, and the incense of worship.
When your fire goes out, your discernment becomes dull. Your joy dries up. Your words lose weight. That’s why Satan doesn’t fear a believer with titles—he fears the one with fire. A burning believer is a dangerous weapon in the hand of God. Romans 12:11 says “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.”
To be fervent means to boil—to stay spiritually hot. You cannot be fervent and defeated at the same time. Fire purifies, empowers, and exposes. Keep it burning, and you’ll keep growing. Let it die, and you’ll be left with an empty shell of religion.
THINGS TO NOTE
- Fire is not automatic—it must be sustained daily.
- The priest (you) is responsible for the altar’s fire.
- No fire = no power. No power = easy prey.
- Fire dies in silence—keep speaking, praying, and praising.
- Burn the Word daily—don’t let your Bible gather dust.
- No one can burn for you. Fan your flame.
DAILY PURPOSE NOTE
This is your day to rise above spiritual laziness. Refuse to be cold or lukewarm. Stoke the fire. Open the Word. Stay on your knees. Tend your altar like a priest of fire.
DAILY PROPHETIC DECLARATION
- Lord, reignite my spiritual fire and passion for You.
- I reject lukewarmness; I choose to be fervent in spirit.
- Holy Spirit, breathe upon my altar afresh today.
- Every distraction sent to quench my fire, be consumed.
- I receive grace to burn consistently for God—day and night.
- My fire will not go out. I am a flame for the glory of God.
