Day 108: THE POWER OF THE CROSS

Scripture
Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
DAILY WISDOM
The cross is the greatest demonstration of God’s love. We live in victory because Jesus died for us.
MESSAGE
Good Friday represents the greatest act of love in human history—the day Jesus Christ laid down His life to redeem mankind from sin and eternal condemnation. The cross was not an accident; it was the fulfillment of God’s divine plan to rescue humanity. The power of the cross is the power of redemption, reconciliation, and restoration.
Before the crucifixion, mankind was in a fallen state, separated from God by sin. But Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God, took our place, bearing the punishment that was meant for us. On the cross, the greatest exchange took place—our sins were placed upon Him, and His righteousness was given to us.
- The Cross Defeated Sin
Sin had reigned over humanity since the fall of Adam, but on the cross, Jesus declared, “It is finished” (John 19:30). The power of sin was broken, and the debt was fully paid. Now, through His blood, we have been washed clean and made righteous before God.
- The Cross Destroyed the Power of the Devil
The enemy thought he had won when Jesus was crucified, but in reality, the cross was his greatest defeat. The Bible says, “Having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” (Colossians 2:15). The cross stripped Satan of his authority over believers, and now we walk in victory!
- The Cross Opened the Door to Eternal Life
Because of Christ’s sacrifice, we are no longer condemned. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16). Good Friday is not a day of mourning, but a day of gratitude and reflection on the immeasurable love of God.
As we commemorate Good Friday, we must remember that the cross is not just a historical event—it is a daily reality. We must live in the power of the cross, walking in victory over sin, standing firm in our righteousness, and spreading the love of Christ to the world.
DAILY PURPOSE NOTE
